Interactive Drive launches it's new website

March 14th, 2007
Interactive Drive has launched its new web site! Developed in XHTML and CSS, it presents a modern clean look but most importantly conforms to the latest internationally recognised web standards as defined by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). The benefits of conforming to these standards are many including:
- Reduced Bandwidth Equals Faster Download Times - Sites load faster as CSS separates information from presentation. This in general requires less code and means a one time download of CSS (presentation layer) as the CSS is cached for subsequent pages.
- Improved User Experience - A faster, more consistent site will nearly always translate to a better overall user experience.
- Simplified Maintenance - The clean separation of information and presentation makes it much easier to develop and maintain pages. Global changes can be quickly deployed and distinctions between design and editorial work can assist with team separation.
- Search Engine Friendly - Using CSS, you can organise your code so the search engines see your real content first regardless of where it appears on the page. This can translate to better search engine rankings.
- Improved Accessibility - Screen readers can more effectively work through the HTML code of CSS-based sites. Additionally, as the wireless market grows (e.g. PDA's), CSS-based websites will benefit in easier optimisation for these devices.
